Our physician spotlight is on Dr. Battese, a dedicated optometrist whose overall patient care philosophy emphasizes the importance of treating the whole person, not just their vision. He believes that educating patients about their health empowers them to take an active role in their care. This holistic approach ensures that every individual receives comprehensive attention tailored to their unique needs.
Originally from Apache, Oklahoma, Dr. Battese began his academic journey at Cameron University in Lawton. It was during a summer internship in the Optometry Department of his local hospital that he discovered his passion for the profession. He went on to earn his degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, graduating Cum Laude. His academic excellence earned him a place in Beta Sigma Kappa, and in 2012, he was elected Class President, reflecting his leadership skills and commitment to his peers.
As an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, Dr. Battese is a passionate advocate for eye care. His dedication extends beyond his practice; he has participated in numerous Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity trips to Honduras, where he has shared his expertise with those in need.
Dr. Battese offers a comprehensive range of services, including thorough eye examinations, diabetic eye evaluations, glaucoma assessments, and specialized contact lens fittings. His commitment to personalized care ensures that each patient receives the attention necessary to optimize their eye health and enhance their quality of life.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Battese is a devoted family man, spending most of his time caring for his two daughters, Hazel, age 5, and Viola, age 9 months. Residing in Broken Arrow with his wife Ashley, he cherishes his rural upbringing, filled with memories of fishing, exploring the outdoors, and playing with cousins. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, engaging in outdoor activities—especially ultimate frisbee—and hosting board game nights with friends.
