Dr. Cox’s journey in medicine began with academic excellence, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, before continuing his education at the University of Oklahoma for medical school. There, he distinguished himself by graduating Alpha Omega Alpha and Summa Cum Laude, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in both academics and patient care.

Following medical school, Dr. Cox pursued specialized training in ophthalmology, completing a residency at the esteemed Callahan Eye Hospital in Birmingham, AL, where he served as Chief Resident. His dedication to advancing his skills led him to undertake a fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive surgery, sponsored by the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This intensive two-year program, reserved for only ten percent of applicant surgeons annually, provided Dr. Cox with unparalleled experience, including over 3,000 surgeries performed, the highest in the country during his fellowship.

Board-certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), Dr. Cox holds a unique distinction as the only physician in Northeastern Oklahoma to achieve ASOPRS certification. His dedication to providing exceptional care is evident in his personalized approach to each patient. Dr. Cox takes the time to thoroughly discuss treatment options and ensures his patients feel comfortable and informed every step of the way.
