A Tulsa native and Bishop Kelley graduate, Dr. Jacob Musto found his passion for eye care by shadowing doctors at a local optometry clinic and later working for the practice as a paraoptometric technician.

Dr. Musto earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northeastern State University and his Doctor of Optometry from the Northeastern State Oklahoma College of Optometry, where he was recognized for his clinical care by receiving the Contact Lens Clinical Excellence Award.

Following graduation, Dr. Musto spent two years practicing in Oregon, where he sharpened his diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills serving the rural communities of southern Oregon and northern California. Now back in his hometown, Dr. Musto is excited to provide personalized, comprehensive eye care to patients of nearly all ages (5 and up)- including management of ocular disease, dry eye, myopia, and specialty contact lenses, as well as surgical co-management and routine vision exams.

Dr. Musto is known for his thoughtful, individualized approach and takes pride in educating patients about their eye health. He is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Musto enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He is currently accepting new patients.

A native of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Dr. Jessica Colpitt Hayes is a dedicated optometrist with a passion for serving her community. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology-Biomedical Sciences from the University of Oklahoma before graduating cum laude from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. Following optometry school, Dr. Hayes completed a residency in primary eye care and ocular disease at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and achieved Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Hayes is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. In 2022, she was honored as Colorado’s Young Optometrist of the Year. Committed to helping those in need, she has volunteered extensively, including at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless Eye Clinic, and has participated in two optometric mission trips to Honduras.

 

Outside the clinic, Dr. Hayes enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband, Ken, and their young son, Hayden. Together, they love playing sports, scuba diving, and exploring the outdoors. She also finds joy in yoga, hiking, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Dr. Katherine Horn hails from Muskogee, OK, and her journey in optometry began with a robust academic background at Oklahoma State University. There, she pursued her Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Biological Sciences while also delving into Chemistry and Zoology. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Horn embarked on a path that led her to San Antonio, TX, where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry with honors from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry.

Her pursuit of excellence didn’t stop there. Dr. Horn further honed her skills by completing a prestigious residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Fayetteville, AR. VAMC.

Driven by a profound commitment to humanitarian service, Dr. Horn has dedicated her time and expertise to numerous medical mission trips in underprivileged regions such as Panama, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Now, she is thrilled to return to the Tulsa area, eager to apply her knowledge and passion to serve her local community.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Horn finds joy in spending quality time with her family, often escaping to the lake for rejuvenating weekends. She’s also a devoted pet parent, doting on her two beloved dogs, Rosie and Pup.

Originally from Tulsa, Dr. Vandervoort embarked on her optometric journey at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry, where she earned her doctorate. Throughout her time at NSUOCO, she demonstrated exemplary academic prowess, earning membership in the esteemed Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Notably, her dedication to excellence was consistently recognized with Honor Society awards during all four years of her studies. Dr. Vandervoort’s exceptional clinical acumen was further acknowledged with the Clinical Excellence Award and the Contact Lens Clinical Excellence award.

Prior to her optometric pursuits, Dr. Vandervoort completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where she obtained her undergraduate degree. She is the proud parent of three children: Carter, Quinn, and Hogan.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Vandervoort is deeply rooted in the Tulsa community. She is an active member of both the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association. Recently, she has joined the esteemed team at The Eye Institute under the guidance of Walter J. Peters, M.D.

For Dr. Vandervoort, patient care is more than a profession—it’s a passion. She finds immense fulfillment in helping each patient enhance their quality of life through improved vision, ensuring it’s the best it can possibly be.

Anthony Battese, O.D.

Originally from Apache, Oklahoma, Dr. Batesse embarked on his academic journey at Cameron University in Lawton.  After his freshman year in college, Dr. Battese spent a summer working at the Optometry Dept in his local hospital and fell in love with the profession. He later got his degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where he graduated Cum Laude. Notably, his outstanding academic achievements led to his induction into Beta Sigma Kappa. In 2012, he was elected Class President, further showcasing his leadership qualities and dedication to his peers.

A passionate advocate for eye care, Dr. Battese is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. He believes in giving back to his community and has contributed his expertise to numerous Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity trips to Honduras.

Dr. Battese offers a wide range of services, including comprehensive eye examinations, diabetic eye examinations, glaucoma evaluations, contact lens examinations, and treatment. He is committed to providing personalized care to each patient, ensuring their eye health and vision are optimized for a better quality of life.

Dr. Battese grew up in the country and has fond memories of fishing, catching bugs and playing in the pasture with his cousins. Today, Dr. Battese lives in Broken Arrow with his wife Ashley and their two daughters, Hazel and Viola. In his free time, he enjoys reading, most outdoor activities (especially ultimate frisbee) and hosting board game nights with friends.

Dr. Neha Sangal is a distinguished board-certified glaucoma specialist, cataract surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist.  She has a keen focus on the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and cataracts surgery. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Sangal pursued her undergraduate and medical education in Boston. Following her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Chicago, she furthered her expertise with a fellowship in glaucoma at the prestigious Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School.

A committed member of the ophthalmic community, Dr. Sangal holds memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. For the past eight years, she has served the Chicagoland area with excellence in patient care. Now, she returns to her roots in Oklahoma, eager to extend her expertise to the Tulsa community.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Oklahoma State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. Dr. Briggs attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and spent his clinical training at the OU-Tulsa School of Community Medicine.  He was selected for membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society which is reserved for the top 15% of the class. He also received the Dr. Fred G. Silva Medical Leadership Award which is reserved for the single medical student chosen by the faculty for being a model of leadership in the field of medicine. Dr. Hasbrook’s passion for ophthalmology flourished during her residency at the Beaumont Eye Institute in Royal Oak, Michigan. It was there that she developed a keen interest in glaucoma and its profound impact on patients’ lives.
